DAVIDSON ACADEMY OF NEVADA ANNOUNCES
GRADUATING CLASS OF 2014

 
Twenty-six Students Receiving Diplomas

(Reno, Nev.) – The Davidson Academy of Nevada, a free public school for profoundly gifted students located on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno, is pleased to announce its graduating class of 2014.

Twenty-six students will receive high school diplomas from The Davidson Academy this year. The 2014 graduates and their post-secondary plans are as follows: 

  • Raghavi Anand – University of Nevada, Reno

  • Rebecca Bauer – Stanford University

  • Nathalie Chen – Carnegie Mellon University

  • Lillian Chien – The University of Alabama at Birmingham Early Medical School Acceptance Program

  • Alana Crognale – Cornell University

  • Anthony Dyer – University of Nevada, Reno

  • Anna Fuchs – University of California, Los Angeles

  • Tim Gaetke – University of Arizona

  • Kevin Gibbs – Haverford College

  • Kyra Harvey – Swarthmore College

  • Alex Hayes – Rice University

  • Joel Hines – University of Puget Sound

  • Christopher Huh – Harvard University

  • Dixee Kimball – Stanford University

Rohatgi was named a Presidential Scholar, one of only 141 students nationwide to receive this honor (http://www2.ed.gov/programs/psp/index.html). Bauer, Chien, Gaetke, Gibbs, Hayes, Huh, Lokshin, Rohatgi, Shinagawa, Thompson, Van Havel, Vulich, Wei and Weiss are National Merit Scholar finalists (http://www.nationalmerit.org/).  

In 1999, Bob and Jan Davidson founded the Davidson Institute for Talent Development, a national nonprofit located in Reno that supports our nation’s brightest young people. In 2004, the Davidsons co-authored, with Laura Vanderkam, Genius Denied: How to Stop Wasting Our Brightest Young Minds, published by Simon & Schuster. In 2006, they founded The Davidson Academy of Nevada, located in the Jot Travis Building on the University of Nevada, Reno campus.
