Davidson Institute for Talent Development
DAVIDSON FELLOWS

Each year, the Davidson Institute for Talent Development offers high-achieving young people across the country the opportunity to be named as Davidson Fellows in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the areas of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, music, literature, philosophy and outside the box.

 

Individuals named Davidson Fellow Laureates each receive a $50,000 scholarship, and those named as Davidson Fellows receive either a $25,000 or $10,000 scholarship. To be named a Davidson Fellow, students 18 and under must submit a project that is an original piece of work, is recognized by experts in the field as significant and has the potential to make a positive contribution to society.

 

The Davidson Fellows scholarship is sponsored and funded by the Davidson Institute for Talent Development, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to serving profoundly intelligent young people. 

 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the 2016 scholarship, applicants must be 18 or under as of Oct. 1, 2016, and be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident residing in the United States. There is no minimum age for eligibility. The scholarship must be used at an accredited institute of learning. The deadline to apply is the February 10, 2016. Selection Criteria

Davidson Fellows are selected by an independent team of judges based on the following:

  • The quality and scope of the entry (50 points)
  • The level of significance of the work (30 points)
  • The applicant's depth of knowledge and understanding of the work and the related domain area (20 points)

Washington, D.C. Reception

Every fall, the Davidson Fellows are honored at a reception in Washington, D.C.

 

Past Davidson Fellows

Since its inception in 2001, the Davidson Fellows Scholarship has recognized 266 young people ranging in age from 6 to 18. More than $6.2 million has been granted in scholarships.
