Researching State Policies for Gifted Education just got easier

Reno, Nev. (March 2004) If you have ever researched state policies and budgets for gifted education, chances are you spent a lot of time consulting a number of different resources. For the first time ever, a Web site has pulled all the scattered information into one resource: www.GeniusDenied.com

This free, online collection allows users to explore policies on gifted education in all 50 states, including budget and student statistics, legislative and policy specifics, state department of education contacts and links to related Web sites.

www.GeniusDenied.com is the official Web site of the book, Genius Denied: How to Stop Wasting Our Brightest Young Minds, written by Jan and Bob Davidson, founders of the Davidson Institute of Talent Development – national nonprofit dedicated to supporting our nation’s brightest young minds.

In Genius Denied: How to Stop Wasting Our Brightest Young Minds, the Davidsons expose what has been called "the biggest dirty little secret" in American education: For many of our nation’s brightest students school is, at best, a waste of time. At worst, it's a purgatory of boredom. These students, who represent our nation's greatest potential, face depression, frustration and often give up on school.

Genius Denied has received critical acclaim as "a manifesto for change" in education and offers students, parents, professionals and policy-makers the tools they need to make change happen.

Genius Denied will be available in April 2004 at online booksellers, such as Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.com, or visit www.GeniusDenied.com to read excerpts and reviews.

Located in Reno, Nev., the Davidson Institute for Talent Development is a 501(c)3 nonprofit operating foundation founded in 1999 by educational software entrepreneurs, Bob and Jan Davidson, to support profoundly intelligent young people.  For more information on the Davidson Institute for Talent Development, please visit www.davidson-institute.org, or call (775) 852-3483.
