THINK Summer Institute Attracts Nation’s Brightest Young Minds to the University of Nevada, Reno

(RENO, Nev.) – Nearly 50 of our nation’s brightest 13- to 16-year-old students will spend three weeks at the University of Nevada, Reno for the ninth annual THINK Summer Institute, a residential summer program sponsored by the Davidson Institute for Talent Development.

The 2012 THINK Summer Institute (, in session from July 14 to August 4, provides gifted and talented students an intensive, full-immersion college experience and the opportunity to earn transferable college credits by taking two of the following courses taught by University of Nevada, Reno faculty members: Computer Science; History; Criminal Justice; Statistics; and, Human Development and Family Studies.

“The THINK Summer Institute allows these very bright students to experience a true college environment,” said Bob Davidson. “In addition to the educational rigor, they also develop friendships with their intellectual peers.”

Former educational software entrepreneurs turned philanthropists, Bob and Jan Davidson founded the Davidson Institute for Talent Development ( in 1999 to support profoundly gifted students 18 and under.
